Aaron Fisher re-evaluates his initial criticism of using the classic pass.

I previously talked about Aaron Fishers article regarding use of the pass. Following a letter from Tony Noice, he has written a follow up article offering Tony’s counter argument about why you should use the classic pass.

Tony believes “the classic pass is almost (although not completely) wasted UNLESS the spectators are burning your hands.”

My feeling is that the pass is a technique and has its place in the right effect. As always the trick is only as good as the performance, and in the right hands the simplest of sleights can be breathtaking; equally the most complicated of moves can lack magic if not performed in the right context. The pass has its place, but like all things, it must be used with great care and consideration.

Aaron Fisher gives a few tips to help unlock one of the most intriguing riddles in sleight of hand - the pass.

Aaron Fisher has posted an enlightening article on use of “the pass” in card tricks. He answers a couple of key questions that we all should read and think about: “Is The Pass the best card control?” and “When should you use the Pass?”. It’s a really interesting article and well worth a read. His conclusion hit’s the mark:

“No matter when you choose to use the pass, always remember this: When you can hold the spectators gaze for a moment and the heat is off, only then is it time to make the shift!”
