After all the hype about what is theory11, the wait is over. The official theory11 website has launched and here’s what they say:

theory11 is a group of 11 individuals united in an unparalleled, strategic alliance under one goal, one mission, and one objective: to advance the art of magic.

Guided by a team of the best creators and performers in the magic industry, this site is your key to the reverberating epicenter of online magic training.

We represent the most elemental form of magic — “one on one.” One performer. One viewer. That is theory11. We represent the artist. We represent independence. We strive to take magic to the next level, pushing forward in its natural progression and evolution as an art form.

It’s our goal to deliver only the most effective, hard hitting magic to you, the magician. If it’s “sorta cool,” we won’t sell it. theory11 isn’t for your average performer. No top hats or cute little bunnies here. We are the edge to your magic.

The site is pretty good and offers some interesting content. There’s a media section where people can upload magical video. Forums, profiles of the 11 magicians who make up theory11 and of course has an area where you can by the unique tricks the site sells. Following on the viral marketing there is a section called 1-on-1 that will drip-feed video to teach the skills of sleight of hand: a very clever way to get people to return to the site. Over-all I think the site has just about managed to live up to the hype.
What’s the locked box at the top of this post? The people who cracked the secret of what is theory11 had a chance to register. Of all those who registered five lucky people received the lock box in the post on 31st August. Combination codes were posted on the theory11 website and the lucky recipients are urged to video them opening the box. As of today, no video has been posted.

What Is Theory 11?

Chis Kenner, Dan and Dave Buck and Lee Asher are tempting us with the question “What is Theory 11 ?”. The website currently has video footage of Chris, the Buck twins and Lee tempting us with snippets of information. Here’s what Chris says in his reel:

“Guys- Be patient. What you’re about to be exposed to is the result of years of thought on the part of myself and many, many others– and months of blood, sweat, and tears. This isn’t a fly by night product we’re hawking. Rest assured that what is coming will be well worth the wait. Each week new details and information will be posted. Each week new clues will be revealed– both hidden (look around…) and explicit. In the end, the puzzle will put itself together, and you’ll know exactly what theory11 is.”

The next installment is released August 13th 11:59 EST, but somehow I don’t think this will be the end of it.
