Robert Harbin

Harbin
Robert Harbin was born Edward Williams in South Africa in 1909. He invented many illusions, his most famous probably being the Zig-Zag girl.

He was the first person to make a success of magic on television in the United Kingdom when in 1940 he brought magic to people’s homes. He had television appearances right up to the 1970’s where he presented a series on his ‘other love’: origami a past-time he pretty much brought to Britain.

Robert Harbin died in Westminster, London in 1978
