This advert from Stanyon’s Magic Magazine Volume 1 issue 1 dated October 1900 is by Professor Lionel Arthur and is an opportunity to buy the secret behind Chung Ling Soo’s Great Goldfish Mystery effect. Here’s what it says:

The marvellous Chinese Trick, lately causing such a sensation at Alhambra Theatre, of catching live gold fish in the air with a rod. Performed by Robinson and by Ching Ling Foo in America.
